Pro Apps Update is still available ( ) if you can't get it from the App Store. If FCP is in a subfolder, it will not get updated. Pro Apps Update needs FCP to be in the Applications Folder for it to be updated to FCP 7.0.3. So I took the leap and updated my OSX (where I lost the ability to use Final Cut Pro 7) and got FCX. ![]() I am accustomed to Final Cut Pro 7 and looked forward to the Final Cut Pro X update, being that it is so affordable. I won't pretend I did any extensive testing, but wasn't the consensus that it could not be done?ĮDIT: My FCS Installer installed FCP 7.0. Add to this the fact that Apple handled the update inelegantly, and it was quite the firestorm. I even got a Pro Apps upgrade to appear in the App Store. I just opened an old project and everything seems in order. I also had to move FCP X away from the main Application folder, otherwise Final Cut Pro 7 was grayed out in the installer. I only installed FCP 7, so no Motion, Compressor, Color, etc. Here is the thing, I just installed FCP 7 from a Final Cut Studio 3 disk image archive. ![]() ![]() If possible, could you send me a link for the correct software. The consensus seems to be that you cannot install FCP 7 on El Capitan, even though a previously installed version of FCP7 should keep working if you update Mac OS X to 10.11 (I can testify that it does on my old MBP). Before I purchase final cut pro, I want to be certain that software in compatible with my MacOS Catilina version 10.15.7. It comes with Mac OS X El Capitan (10.11) preinstalled. I recently got a shiny new iMac 5K 2015 delivered to my office.
